No one should go hungry. River Bend Food Bank, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, feeds people experiencing hunger by rescuing, safely storing, and distributing nutritious food through more than 400 hunger-relief partners in 23 counties in eastern Iowa and western Illinois.
River Bend Food Bank is a proud member of the Feeding America network – a nationwide nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support and resources to 200 food banks across the United States.
OUR MISSION
River Bend Food Bank leads the community-wide effort to end hunger in eastern Iowa and western Illinois, by:
- Leveraging partnerships to help people in need stabilize their lives;
- Educating and engaging the public in hunger issues;
- Advocating on behalf of people facing hunger;
- Distributing surplus food through a network of hunger-relief agency partners and programs; and
- Striving to end hunger.
OUR LOCATIONS
River Bend Food Bank operates three warehouse facilities to distribute food to hunger relief partner organizations across our service area. The primary location is in Davenport, Iowa, with two branch locations in Dubuque, Iowa and Galesburg, Illinois.

River Bend Food Bank, St. Stephen’s Branch has served Dubuque and Jackson counties in Iowa since 1982. The St. Stephen’s Branch is a 6,500 sq. ft. warehouse with cooler/freezer space for safely housing perishable foods like fresh produce, dairy products, and frozen proteins. RIVER BEND FOOD BANK, GALESBURG BRANCH
Serving eight counties in the southern region of our service area, River Bend Food Bank, Galesburg Branch is a “hub” for food distribution to partner pantries and meal sites in the heart of Galesburg, Illinois. The Galesburg Branch co-locates with FISH of Galesburg food pantry, which is open to the public daily. The facility is a nearly 18,000 sq. ft. warehouse with cooler/freezer space for safely housing perishable foods like fresh produce, dairy products, and frozen proteins. The warehouse will distribute directly to hunger-relief partners – if you’re in need of food, find a pantry near you.
