River Bend Food Bank volunteers are the backbone of our operations; they are the ones who propel us forward in our mission to end hunger. In FY 2026, our volunteers donated 24,306 hours of service – that is equivalent to nearly 12 full-time employees! We could not deploy our mission without their ongoing commitment.

Ways to Volunteer

1.  Sorting at our warehouse
   Our warehouse opportunity is available Monday-Thursday from 1:00-3:00 pm. We can host up to 15 volunteers at our warehouse.
2. Assisting at our community pantries
   • SouthPark: Tuesdays from 2:00-6:00 pm and on Thursdays from 9:00-1:00 pm.
   • NorthPark: Mondays from 2:00-6:00 pm and on Wednesdays from 9:00-1:00 pm.
3. Produce Delivery Driver
   
   Every Wednesday, produce needs to be delivered to Senior Living Facilities across the QC. Please bring your driver’s license and insurance card so a copy can be made before you drive our van.
4. Volunteer receptionist
   The main responsibilities will be answering the phone and greeting guests as they enter the food bank.

Please register in advance so we can plan for your help. If you need to change or cancel your volunteer slot, let us know – we rely on knowing who will be on hand to make sure we have enough volunteers to get food to people who need it.

If you are an employer or an organization interested in providing a one-time or ongoing volunteer opportunity for employees or members, we’d love to have you! We typically book our warehouse volunteer opportunities two months in advanced.
